Product Discovery Sprint
Know what to build before you pay to build it.
Work with senior software engineers to turn an unclear product idea into a prioritised MVP, technically sound approach, realistic development budget and clear next step — in one focused working week.
No obligation to build with Azuki. You keep everything we produce.

Before the larger investment
Planning a software project without enough certainty?
You may have an idea, but the MVP is unclear. Different suppliers may be giving very different estimates, or you may need a credible budget before internal approval.
Perhaps a process needs replacing, but you do not yet know what the right solution looks like. If you are about to commit £25k–£100k+ to development, the Sprint gives you better confidence before that decision.
It can help shape a new web platform, mobile app, SaaS product or internal system, including software that needs to connect with hardware and connected systems.
Engineering-led discovery
Product thinking, grounded in engineering.
Your Sprint is led by experienced software engineers who design and build production systems. We consider the product idea alongside the technical reality — architecture, integrations, platforms, data, third-party services and implementation complexity.
Technical feasibility
Identify important constraints, dependencies and risks.
Technical direction
Recommend an appropriate architecture and implementation approach.
Technology research
Investigate platforms, APIs or technologies where the answer isn't obvious.
Realistic estimates
Scope and costs informed by real software delivery experience.
If an existing platform, simpler solution or different technical approach makes more sense than bespoke development, we’ll say so.
Decision-grade clarity
At the end of the Sprint, you’ll know:
What problem the product should solve
Who the key users are
What belongs in the MVP
What should wait
Whether the important features are technically feasible
What technical approach makes sense
The likely development budget
The recommended next step
What’s included
Three senior Azuki days focused on turning uncertainty into a practical development direction.
MVP scope
A prioritised first version rather than an unbounded feature list.
Core user journeys
One or two principal workflows mapped clearly.
Lightweight wireframes
Key-flow wireframes where they help clarify how the product should work.
Technical direction
A senior engineering view of architecture, platforms, integrations, data and key technology choices, with targeted research where useful.
Risks and assumptions
The unknowns that could materially affect scope, cost or feasibility.
Development roadmap
A sensible phased route from MVP onwards.
Indicative development budget
A realistic range based on much better information than an initial sales call.
Product Discovery Pack
A concise set of outputs that belongs to the client.
A focused software discovery phase
Three senior days. One working week.
Three days of Azuki effort spread across one working week; typical client involvement is around 5–7 hours.
Day 1 — Understand
Objectives, users, workflows, constraints and priorities.
Day 2 — Investigate
MVP scope, journeys, feasibility, architecture and technology research.
Day 3 — Decide
Recommended solution, roadmap, risks and development estimate.
Final playback
Walk through the recommendations and decisions together.
Your decision, not our sales process
Useful even if we don’t build it.
The Discovery Pack is yours. It gives your internal team or another development partner a clear view of the problem, scope, key journeys, technical direction, risks and indicative development effort.
We’d be happy to build it with you, but the Sprint has to make sense even if we don’t.
Good fit if…
Who the Sprint is for
- You have a software or product idea but need clarity
- You are replacing spreadsheets or manual processes
- You are planning a meaningful software investment
- You need confidence before committing to development
Probably not right if…
- You already have a complete build-ready specification
- You only need visual or brand design
- You want development to begin immediately
- You need a full technical specification or production prototype
Fixed price. Clear outcome.

Frequently asked questions
Why pay for discovery when some agencies scope projects for free?
A free call is enough to understand whether there is a potential fit. It is not enough to responsibly determine the scope, technical direction and likely cost of a substantial software investment.
How accurate is the development estimate?
The Sprint provides an indicative development range based on a clearer scope and technical direction. A fixed build price is only appropriate where the discovered scope is sufficiently certain.
Who actually runs the Sprint?
Senior Azuki product and engineering people with experience designing and delivering production software lead the Sprint directly.
How much time do we need to commit?
Typically around 5–7 hours across the week.
What happens after the Sprint?
You can use the Product Discovery Pack to brief Azuki, your own team or another development partner. If we are the right fit, we can discuss the next step for development or ongoing support.
Do we have to use Azuki to build it?
No. The outputs belong to the client and can be used with any development partner.
