Trackitnow are a leader in tracking software for various types of vehicles. They install specialised GPS chips into vehicles to track where they go. 2B, a cambridge software company, have created a number of applications for them and they called on us to help build some native mobile apps.
We decided to use RubyMotion for this app. In the first version of the app, it is consuming real-time data being collected and displaying it beautifully. Lots of mapping, real-time updating and some reverse geocoding were all part of the fun!
The apps produce better visibility of the fleets. This allows more effective management of jobs. And the mobile apps allow all of this whilst on the go.
Take a look at the Trackitnow app in the App Store.
This has been a great project to work on and has had very positive feedback so far.
